Overview

Md Mahbubur Rahman is a Director of Morgan Hill Solicitors and a senior member of the firm's Immigration Department, based at the firm's Ilford Head Office. His practice covers all aspects of UK immigration, asylum and human rights law.

Mahbubur advises individuals, families and businesses, including sponsor licence holders, on the full range of UK immigration matters — from first-time entry clearance applications through to complex appeals, judicial review and settlement. Career

Mahbubur joined Morgan Hill Solicitors in August 2020 as a trainee solicitor and completed his period of recognised training with the firm. He qualified as a solicitor in May 2023 and was appointed a Director of Morgan Hill Solicitors Ltd on 2 September 2026.

Areas of Practice

• UK Immigration and Nationality — entry clearance and leave to remain under the family, private life, work, student, visitor and human rights routes; settlement (Indefinite Leave to Remain) and British citizenship applications; and EU Settlement Scheme applications.
• Asylum & Human Rights — claims under the Refugee Convention and Articles 3 and 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, including asylum applications, further submissions and fresh claims, and representation at screening and substantive asylum interviews.
• Immigration Appeals & Judicial Review — appeals to the First-tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) and onward to the Upper Tribunal; pre-action protocol correspondence and judicial review in the Upper Tribunal and the Administrative Court; and immigration bail applications and detention cases.
• Business & Sponsor Licence Immigration — advising UK employers and overseas businesses on sponsor licence applications under the Skilled Worker and other routes, ongoing sponsor compliance duties, the defence of suspension and revocation action, and civil penalties for illegal working under the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006.
